School Social Work Focus
The Master of Social Work School Social Work Focus program offers a plan of study that is specific to students interested in a career in K-12 education. Social workers working within school systems provide services to students to enhance their emotional well-being and improve their academic performance. This specialty focus provides students with a plan of study that provides a theoretical and evidence-based perspective on the methods in K-12 education.
Course Delivery
Location
Newman University's main campus is in Wichita and an outreach location in Colorado Springs.
Instruction
Classes are offered with a blend of classroom instruction, face-to-face activities, simulations, and field placements in the community.
Format
All courses are 16-weeks long and are taught on-campus and hybrid formats.

Advanced Standing
The Advanced Standing MSW track is designed for students who have already obtained a Bachelor of Social Work from a CSWE accredited school.
Total Credits: 34 Credit hours
Foundational Standing
The Foundational Standing MSW track is designed for students who have an undergraduate degree in a major other than social work.
Total Credits: 62 Credit Hours
Note: Applicants who have not completed their undergraduate program are still invited to apply to the Newman University MSW program. If accepted, admission may be conditional for receipt of an official transcript showing the completed undergraduate degree.

Program Length
Foundational Standing: This status requires 2 years to complete 62 credit hours of full-time coursework and field work. The part time option requires 4 years to complete. A combination of full-time and part-time is also available.
Advanced Standing: This status require 12 months to complete 34 credit hours of full-time coursework and field work. The part time option requires 2 years to complete.
