The Criminal Justice System impacts every aspect of our lives, and in many ways that most people do not think about. From traffic tickets to stolen cars, the way we define right and wrong is continually being challenged in the criminal justice system. The way we respond to right and wrong behavior should also, and always, be challenged and that is why studying criminal justice has value for today and tomorrow.

Criminal Justice is multifaceted, because it is a system that includes law enforcement, courts, and corrections, and interdisciplinary, because it combines science, social science, theology and allied health into one problem-solving institution. Opportunities, professional and personal, are constant and growing in a wide variety of settings for graduates of the Newman University Criminal Justice Program.

"Coach Billy Murphy (Newman University Bowling) recruited me from a very young age to bowl for him, and this is what made me attend. On top of Newman being an extremely reputable school as well, it was a no-brainer to attend."

"One of the things I loved about Newman was the size and the closeness of the community on campus. It was small enough that everyone knew everyone, and it was difficult to 'hide' and not be seen by staff or other students. This prepared me to serve Wichita in a sense that it is a big enough city but small enough to make an impact. Being in a city of this size, a small impact made in the community can cause huge ripples to make the community a better place."
